Story

🚵‍♂️ Everest on Two Wheels: Skiddaw MTB Challenge

I’m taking on one of the toughest endurance challenges imaginable to raise money for Lake District Calvert Trust.

The challenge?

To complete an Everest Challenge on a mountain bike — riding up and down Skiddaw off-road around 11 times within 24 hours.

That’s:

🏔 8,849 metres of total ascent (the height of Mount Everest)

🚴 Approximately 73 miles

⏱ All within a single 24-hour window

🌧 On rough, technical Lake District terrain — not tarmac

Skiddaw is no gentle climb. It’s steep, rocky, exposed, and relentless. Riding it repeatedly on a mountain bike means battling fatigue, technical descents, unpredictable weather, darkness, and the mental challenge of turning back uphill again… and again… and again.

This isn’t just about fitness — it’s about resilience, determination, and pushing well beyond comfort zones.

I’m doing this to support the incredible work of the Lake District Calvert Trust, who provide life-changing outdoor adventure experiences for people with disabilities. Their work proves that adventure, challenge, and achievement should be accessible to everyone — and I hope this challenge reflects that spirit.

Every donation, big or small, will help make a real difference.

Thank you for supporting me — and for helping turn this exhausting, muddy, 24-hour suffer-fest into something truly meaningful. 💙
