Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
This August bank holiday weekend, I’m taking on the Yorkshire 3 Peaks Challenge—24 miles, 3 mountains, and over 5,000 feet of climbing—all in one day. I am doing the hike to raise money for The PBC Foundation.
In November 2024, I was diagnosed with a rare, lifelong autoimmune liver disease called Primary Biliary Cholangitis (PBC). It’s a condition where the body’s immune system mistakenly attacks the small bile ducts in the liver, leading to inflammation, scarring, and, over time, liver damage.
PBC is already rare, but it’s especially unusual in young men. It’s most commonly diagnosed in women over the age of 40. While there’s no cure at present, treatment can help slow the disease’s progression
One thing that has helped enormously is the support I’ve received from the PBC Foundation. Through them, I’ve been able to attend meetings and connect with others in my area who also live with this condition, which has made a huge difference in helping me stay positive and informed.
It’s my first time tackling anything like this, and I’ll be doing it alongside my friend Cavan O’Sullivan who’s raising money for Wheatfields Hospice who provide incredible care and support to people and their families. If you’re able to donate, no matter how small, or even just share this page, it would mean a lot to both of us.
Thank you for your support!
