Story
We lost Joanna, my Mum, to pancreatic cancer last September, and the Marie Curie nurses were a brilliant support to my family for ensuring she was comfortable at the end and allowing her to be at home for it. It's an awful thing to go through for everyone involved, but it's fantastic that Marie Curie are there to provide some help through it, so I'd like to raise some money to say thank you!
She was always very active, and it was her going for runs that originally inspired me to get into running (along side a sense I should get into the habit of exercising before my metabolism started slowing down). I'm also grateful she got to see me run the BathHalf last year. So running it this year to raise some money for Marie Curie seemed fitting.
Marie Curie is here for anyone with an illness they’re likely to die from, and those close to them. Whatever the illness, wherever you are, we’re with you to the end. We bring 75 years of experience and leading research to the care we give you at home, in our hospices and over the phone. And we push for a better end of life for all by campaigning and sharing research to change the system.
Marie Curie is a charity working across the UK and we need your support to do our vital work.
