The Suffolk Horse Breed is the rarest and oldest surviving breed of heavy horse, dating back to 1768.

The Rare Breeds Survival Trust estimates that there are fewer than 80 registered breeding mares in the UK putting them near the top of the Priority Category on the RSBT Watchlist.
