Story
I'm taking part in the Tough Mudder, 15km obstacle run on the 10th May, to raise money for The Brain Tumour Charity. I'm taking part to challenge myself, and to show support to my Dad, who was diagnosed with a Glioblastoma Brain Tumour in September last year.
Over the last few months, my Dad has had surgery on his brain, 6 weeks of Chemo-therapy and radio-therapy, and multiple clinical trials and scans to help towards finding a cure. Seeing his determination, commitment, positive mindset, his refusal to give up and how he has faced each part of the treatment so far, has inspired me to challenge myself and try to show support to him and the cause.
My Dad has always been my inspiration. His nature, wisdom and support has helped me throughout my life, through good and bad times. Since being told of the diagnosis, everyone in my family has been affected in countless ways. It's made us stronger, closer and shown the importance of enjoying moments inbetween the chaos of everything going on.
By taking part in this challenge, I want to give myself something to work towards and achieve, whilst showing some support for the challenges that every person affected by a brain tumour faces.
I am aiming to raise a minimum of £500 to support towards research, clinical trials and work to help find a cure. Any support towards this would mean the world to me, no matter how big or small.
