Nijmegen March · 16 July 2024

The DMRC Benevolent Fund purchases special goods and services for patients' rehabilitation, beyond that which is provided by the public purse. We create opportunities for patients to engage in social activities, which lets them forget about their injuries and rehabilitation for a few hours.

Story

Twelve serving Soldiers, Sailors, and Aviators from the Defence Medical Rehabilitation Centre (DMRC) Stanford Hall will complete the Nijmegen March in July 2024. The gruelling 160km/100-mile march spans four days, with participants carrying a 10kg load amidst the scorching Dutch summer, where temperatures can exceed 35°C.

Over 75,000 participants from 70+ countries joined the march last year.

Your donation will go to the DMRC Benevolent Fund which is a volunteer-run charity that provides funding to support holistic, occupational and social integration opportunities for serving military patients at DMRC, that are not provided by public funding.

They offer a programme of events and activities to enhance the rehabilitation process which plays a vital role in keeping patients motivated and supported while undertaking what can be an arduous and challenging recovery process.
