In September 2026, my two boys; Joshua (12) and Henry (9) are taking on the Overgate Hospice Midnight Walk: 10 miles through the streets of Calderdale, starting at midnight.

In an age where most kids want to be on their screens, these two have been out training through the cold, damp Yorkshire winter, trudging up steep hillsides, through woodland, around reservoirs, in all weathers, without complaint. I couldn't be more proud of them.

Overgate Hospice provides free, specialist end-of-life care and support to patients and families across Calderdale at the most difficult time of their lives. The hospice relies heavily on the generosity of people like you to keep doing this vital work.
