Story
I'm running the London Landmarks Half Marathon for Dementia UK.
Dementia UK is a charity that is close to my heart as my Grandad is one of the one million people in the UK alone who suffer from Alzheimer's disease. Seeing how this disease has not only changed his life, but also the lives of all of the loved ones around him, has encouraged me to take on the London Half Marathon to try and raise as much money as possible. Any money raised for this specialist dementia nurse charity will go towards the critical care that dementia sufferers deserve to help them stay independent for longer, and support the people caring for them so they have the strength to cope with the bad days, and the energy to enjoy the good days. These carers, called Admiral Nurses, have the time to listen and the knowledge to solve problems, helping families to take back control.
Any donation towards fighting this life changing condition will be very much appreciated and every penny will be put to good use.
