Rogue Angel fundraiser for The Royal Marsden Cancer Charity

Josh Edwards is raising money for The Royal Marsden Cancer Charity

Rogue Angels’ Gig · 7 March 2025

Raising funds for Paediatric Brain Tumour research.

Story

Josh Edwards is a 13 year old boy who was enjoying all the opportunities and things that life offers a teenager at the peak of their life, when, completely out of the blue, a tumour the size of a tennis ball was discovered on his skull during a routine MRI last summer. There had been no indication of anything up to this point. Histology came back showing it to be a highly aggressive brain cancer. Our world came crashing down.

Josh had this tumor removed August 2024. Since then, he has started maintenance treatment to ensure that the cancer will be blasted to smithereens, hopefully never to return. This treatment has taken the form of a sandwich of Chemotherapy, Proton Beam Radiotherapy, followed by more Chemotherapy. He will shortly be starting the final leg, which is 8 cycles of Chemotherapy.

Joshie has been an absolute warrior throughout this, with unwaivering positivity and determination. By the end of 2025, and assuming his treatment stays on track, Josh will have completed his treatment. Because his type of tumour is unclassified (he is currently the only person in the world to have this variant) we have put all our faith in the incredible team at the Royal Marsden to curate the best possible treatment plan for Josh.

The Royal Marsden Cancer Charity raises money solely to support The Royal Marsden, a world-leading cancer centre. They ensure that their nurses, doctors and research teams can provide the very best care and develop life-saving treatments, which are used across the UK and around the world.

From funding state-of-the-art equipment and groundbreaking research, to creating the very best patient environments, they never stop looking for ways to improve the lives of people affected by cancer.

We can't thank the Royal Marsden and everyone involved in this epic journey enough. We are so grateful to them, and everything they have already done, and will continue to do in Joshie's life.
