Story
NB - Ticket Bundle Pricing at the bottom of this write up!
Hey there! If you’re here for the raffle, bear with me—everything you need to know is just at the bottom of this write up. If you’re curious about the charity, my marathon challenge, or why I decided to raise funds, feel free to read on. If not, and you’re just here for the prizes, no worries— you can skip straight to the end.
I'm raising money for the Canon Collins Trust, an incredible charity that’s transforming lives in southern Africa through the power of education. Since 1981, the Trust has supported more than 4,000 talented individuals from 14 southern African countries, enabling more than 100 scholars across 30 universities each year to pursue their dreams. But these aren’t just scholarships—they’re pathways to change, empowering bright minds to become community leaders who tackle systemic challenges like poverty and inequality. Your donation will help build a more equitable future, funding everything from life-changing student opportunities to community projects, like building libraries and supporting grassroots initiatives.
As someone who grew up in South Africa, I’ve witnessed first-hand the struggles faced by underprivileged communities — but I’ve also seen the incredible impact that success stories can have. Figures like Makazole Mapimpi, Siya Kolisi and Trevor Noah show how individuals can inspire not just a nation but the world.
Education is one of the most powerful and accessible ways to create these ripple effects of change. It doesn’t just transform the life of the scholar—it uplifts entire communities. Supporting education in South Africa has been a long-time goal of mine, and running the London Marathon is the perfect way for me to combine my passion for running with a cause that’s close to my heart.
Thanks for taking the time to hear my story and learn about the Cannon Collins Trust. Now that we’ve covered the important stuff, let’s get to the exciting part—the raffle!
