Wow, wow, wow... running has suddenly become a lot more serious.

Those who know me well will know that this time last year, I could barely run at all. Over the past 12 months, I've worked hard on my fitness and wellbeing, and I'm now in the best place I've been for a long time.

That's why I've decided to set myself two huge challenges:

🏃 Run a sub-3-hour marathon

💙 Raise as much money as possible for an incredible cause

The charity I'll be representing is Roald Dahl's Marvellous Children's Charity.

I had a few offers from different charities, but RDMCC really resonated with me. As a lifelong fan of Roald Dahl's work, I was inspired to learn more about the amazing support they provide for seriously ill children and their families. Through no fault of their own, these children have been dealt an incredibly difficult hand in life, and the charity works tirelessly to make their journey that little bit easier.

To go from barely being able to run a year ago to chasing a sub-3 marathon is a challenge that excites and scares me in equal measure. But knowing that every mile can help raise money for such a fantastic cause makes it all worthwhile.

Working in education, I witness firsthand the struggles some children face—challenges that many of us can hardly imagine. These children deserve every bit of support we can offer. That’s why I am proud to be fundraising for Roald Dahl's Marvellous Children's Charity. This incredible organization provides specialist nurses and vital support to seriously ill children across the UK. With over 250 Roald Dahl Nurses caring for more than 50,000 children, their work transforms lives every day.

My goal is to raise £2,500 to help sustain this essential care. Every donation, no matter how small, will contribute directly to giving these children the care and comfort they deserve. I will also be hosting various fundraising activities throughout the year—so please keep an eye out!
