Story
Hannah was a great woman with a kind and generous heart. Unfortunately at the age of 24 she lost her battle with leukemia following months of treatment.
I know if she had the opportunity, she would do everything she could do to raise awareness for the millions of individuals that are battling against leukaemia and for the ones in the future that will embark on treatment following diagnosis.
Leukaemia UK believe research has the power to stop leukaemia devastating lives.
Despite decades of incredible progress, only half of leukaemia patients live longer than five years after their diagnosis.
This fundraiser is aimed at helping raise money to help in the progression of research in cancer treatments in the hopes of finding new interventions to help ensure others in the same position as Hannah will have a better outcome in overcoming their circumstances.
I used to be naive to the negative lasting impact of how cancer can impact someone and the people around them. But having worked in healthcare and been a part of Hannah’s journey through treatment, I can’t emphasise how important it is raising awareness and helping in the progression of early detection and treatment.
Please consider donating to the fundraiser however if you can’t spare money for whatever reason please consider becoming a blood donor and sign up to your look local blood bank.
