Josh Runs The Brighton Half Marathon for Flori's Friends Rescue

Joshua Ellis is raising money for FLORI'S FRIENDS RESCUE

The Altra Brighton Half Marathon 2026 · 1 March 2026 ·

Flori’s Friends Rescue is a UK registered charity (117365). We are a 100% non-profit charity, dedicated to helping and rehoming abused and unwanted animals in Britain and across Europe. We have a strict no kill policy and every life matters to us, however big or small. Many of our animals come in with no hope left in their eyes and it is our job to bring back their sparkle. At Flori’s Friends Rescue, we provide much needed veterinary care and rehabilitation to those many have turned their backs on. Each soul is cared for by a skilled member of our team with compassion, respect and dedication. We specialise in sick and injured animals and truly believe every single soul deserves 100% effort and compassion to get them back on their feet.

Story

Thank you so much for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page, it really does mean the world!

On 1st March, I'll be lacing up my trainers and running the Brighton Half Marathon to raise vital funds for Flori's Friends Rescue, a truly remarkable charity that is close to my heart.

Flori's Friends Rescue is a 100% non-profit organisation dedicated to rescuing, rehabilitating, and rehoming severely abused and unwanted animals, with a particular specialisation in the care of paralysed dogs. What makes them truly exceptional is that they often take in the cases other organisations will not ... the animals that have been written off, the ones deemed too complex, too costly, or too broken to save. Flori's simply refuse to give up on them.

Their experienced team... including veterinary surgeons, physiotherapists, and animal care specialists — provides life-saving surgeries, custom prosthetics, wheelchairs, and tailored rehabilitation programmes, working with each animal for as long as it takes to give them a second chance at a full, happy life. They also provide free wheelchair fittings and mobility training for dogs that have recently become paralysed or lost mobility, and maintain a 100% success rate in rehabilitating feral and severely abused cats into well-adjusted, adoptable pets.

Founded in 2015, Flori's Friends Rescue has now rescued over 1,500 animals, each one with a story that deserves a happy ending. They are 100% reliant on the donations of their supporters to continue this work, which is exactly why every pound raised through my run makes such a tangible difference.

Every step I take on race day is for the animals that didn't think they'd get a second chance. Please donate whatever you can — no amount is too small — and help Flori's keep doing what they do best.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving - they'll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they'll send your money directly to the charity. So it's the most efficient way to donate - saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
