Alzheimer’s Research UK is the UK’s leading dementia research charity. We’re striving for a cure, by revolutionising the way we treat, diagnose and prevent dementia.

Story

I am taking part in not one but TWO! marathons, Brighton & London 😁

Call me crazy but I’ve never been happier and more honoured to do it for such a great and personal cause!

Our vision is a world where people are free from the fear, harm and heartbreak of dementia.

We are the UK's leading dementia research charity, dedicated to causes, diagnosis, prevention, treatment and cure. Backed by our passionate scientists and supporters, we’re challenging the way people think about dementia, uniting the big thinkers in the field and funding the innovative science that will deliver a cure.

Personal Reason:

Having to watch my Grandmother’s body slowly and not always pain freely shut down was not something you get taught how to deal with at school. When one of the people you look up to the most forgets your name and eventually who you are is heartbreaking for anyone, especially when you’ve barely hit double figures. Definitely one of the hardest things to process to say the least.

I would love nothing more than for there to be a cure for this one day, and I believe that it is very much achievable.
