Raising awareness for Stroke

Half marathon
On June 8th, 2023, my life took an unexpected turn when I suffered an ischemic stroke at the age of 33. This life event robbed me of fundamental abilities like speaking, reading, and writing , leaving me grappling with aphasia, dysarthria, memory issues and cognitive challenges that turned my world upside down.
You never imagined not being able to communicate your needs during such a vulnerable time.
However, with the overwhelming support of my loved ones and stroke services, I've managed to push through various hurdles in my recovery.
Now, I'm embarking on a journey of resilience and empowerment to give back for the services that helped me.
On August 10th, 2024, myself and 12 of my family and friends will be hiking the summit of Snowdon in an overnight sunrise walk.
This challenging trek is to raise funds for Ward 514 at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham, where I received crucial care during the first few days of my stroke the nurses and hospital staff where instrumental in my outlook on my recovery journey.
But the journey doesn't stop there.
On September 15th, I'll be taking on the Worcester half marathon to continue raising funds for the Stroke Association, an organisation that has played a pivotal role in supporting stroke survivors like myself.
Your support will not only fuel my journey but also contribute to vital research and support for stroke survivors. Together, let's climb mountains and cross finish lines in the fight against stroke.
