Joshua's fundraiser for Family Fund

Joshua Halliday is raising money for Family Fund

London Marathon 2026 · 26 April 2026 · Start fundraising for this event

Family Fund believes that all families raising disabled and seriously ill children should have the same opportunities as others. With our grants and services we aim to help break down many of the barriers these families face, improving their quality of life and easing the additional daily pressures.

Story

My name is Josh, and I’m proud to be running the marathon in support of Family Fund. This is my first ever organised run, so I’m understandably a bit nervous — but I’m hoping your encouragement and donations will help spur me on! I was never “the sporty type” at school, and I didn’t take up running until my late twenties. The idea of being able to push myself this far still feels surreal, but that’s exactly why I wanted to do it. If I’m going to take on something this challenging, I want it to mean something more than just a personal milestone.

I wanted to give back by supporting a charity that creates real, immediate impact. I’ve seen how much strength, resilience, and love families show while caring for a disabled or seriously ill child, and I want to do something that helps lighten that load, even just a little. Taking on this marathon feels like a meaningful way to challenge myself while raising vital funds so that more families can receive the support they deserve.

Family Fund is the UK’s largest charity providing grants for families raising disabled or seriously ill children and young people. Last year alone, Family Fund provided over 150,000 grants or services across the UK, helping families access essential items, support, and moments of relief when they need it most.

I’m honoured to take on this challenge for Family Fund, and I hope my efforts can play a small part in helping them reach even more families across the UK.
