Story

Hi there everyone! If you take a few minutes out of your day to read this I would greatly appreciate it.

In December of 2024 me and my family lost my beloved Auntie Angelika to cancer at the age of 30-years-old. Angelika was more than just an Aunt, she was a pillar of happiness, love and support. Someone so extraordinarily passionate about books, movies, and music. One of her favourites being the Harry Potter franchise. Throughout her treatment and in her final days, Sue Ryder was there to support and treat her. I am so thankful for the work they did for us and for her, holding her and my Uncles wedding.

After everything they did for us, I felt it was only right for me to give back and to commemorate my Aunt's memory. As someone new to running, I felt that pushing myself to take on this challenge would be a meaningful way to honour her memory. Running is not something that comes easily to me, but every step I take is a tribute to the strength and resilience Angelika showed throughout her journey. This run is my way of saying thank you to Sue Ryder for their kindness and care, and to ensure they can continue supporting other families in their most difficult moments. It’s also a way for me to carry Angelika’s spirit with me - her love for life, her passion, and the joy she brought to everyone around her. I know she would be cheering me on, just as she always did.

My original goal was to run an half marathon by August of 2025, however due to injury and timings this did not happen. My new goal has been set for the Reading Half Marathon on 22nd March. Any donations, big or small, will go directly to Sue Ryder, helping them continue their vital work for families in need. Your support means the world to me, and I appreciate every contribution. Thank you!
