Anyone can get Parkinson’s. It gets worse over time and there’s no cure. Yet. Funding research into the most promising treatments, we’re getting closer to a cure. Until then, we're improving life for people with Parkinson’s, and the people in their lives. Together we'll find a cure.

Story

17th January 2024, Parkinson's claimed the life of my beloved Uncle Terry, my Mother's Brother, who passed peacefully aged 77.

Somewhat unbelievably, my Grandpa on my Father's side, Bill, also passed away from Parkinson's, aged 77, on the 17th January 2005.

Having seen two of my closest family members battle through ill health from Parkinson's, it felt right to make a personal effort and try to raise some money for Parkinson's UK, and what better way to do this than through my own passion, golf.

Taking on 72 holes of golf at Turton Golf Club will be approximately 20 miles walked, 700m ascent, roughly 6,000 active calories burned in the day, and will take approximately 14 hours.

To quote Parkinson's UK directly, the funds raised will "mean we can keep providing tailored information and support, funding the most promising research to find a cure and campaigning for fairer treatment."
