adidas Manchester Marathon 2026 · 19 April 2026 ·

EVERY 90 SECONDS someone in the UK is admitted to hospital with an acquired brain injury (ABI). There are many possible causes, such as a fall, a road traffic accident, an assault, a tumour or a stroke. A brain injury can happen to anyone, at any time. When it does, we're here to help

Story

On 19th April 2026, I’ll be taking on the Manchester Marathon and I’m using this as an opportunity to raise money for Headway, a charity that supports people affected by brain injuries.

In July 2021, my Dad suffered a severe brain injury following a tragic accident at work. In an instant, my world was turned upside down and life as I knew it changed completely.

He is now in a Neuro Rehabilitation Unit, where he continues to receive the care and support he needs every day. Every small step forward is hard-earned. Some days bring tiny moments of hope, and others are incredibly difficult.

Throughout this journey, Headway has been a vital source of support. They provide essential help, guidance, and hope for individuals and families affected by brain injury. Their work makes a real difference, offering both practical assistance and emotional support when it’s needed most.

Every donation, no matter the size, will go towards helping people rebuild their lives after brain injury and supporting families like mine navigate a completely new unimaginable reality.

Thank you for your support❤️
