Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

My name is Josh. I'm 29 years old, I'm from Chichester and I'm running the Chichester Half Marathon in aid of the Grace Eyre Foundation.

I am supported by Grace Eyre to live independently in my own home.

My Support Workers mean a lot to me. I've been through a lot in my life and Grace Eyre has always been there to help me. That's why I'm raising money for them.

I started running when I was 10 years old with my step-dad who helped to pace me so I could run for longer. Pacing could a challenge with the half marathon, but my training should help with this. I'm aiming to complete the run in approximately 2.5 hours.

Earlier this year I ran the Brighton Half Marathon in horrendous weather. Hopefully it'll be nicer this year and it's just the hills to worry about.

I have a tattoo, "with pain comes strength" and that thought will help me get through the run when I start to get tired - that and the thought of a cold pint (or maybe two) at the pub!

I find running really helpful for getting out of my head and into the fresh air. I also like to prove people wrong and show people what I can do.

For this half marathon I'll be running with my personal trainer, Matt - let's hope he keeps up!!

I've just started my training and eased myself in with just a short 9km(!) from my home to Grace Eyre's JBU Club in Bognor Regis.

The JBU Club is a social club for people supported by Grace Eyre to come together, make friends and have fun. I enjoy coming to the JBU Club to see my support Worker, Andy (aka Grandad!). It's good to chill out and see friends.

Please donate what you can. The money I raise will go towards projects like the JBU Club so that more people can be supported by Grace Eyre.

Thank you for your support.
