Story
The Charity which I am raising money for is extremely important to a Year 6 pupil who I work with at Wellington School called Isla. Compass provides day care for adults with additional needs, which Emily (Isla's sister) use to attend. Emily now attends Compass College which is sited in another unit. While they have a further unit for Dementia day care called (Compass) Cogs.
Compass provides a wide range of services including wellbeing activities, learning opportunities, social support, inclusive community spaces, and practical help for people with disabilities and their families.
This 10K is a massive personal challenge for me — and anyone who knows me will understand why! Running, exercise, and enthusiastic group participation have never exactly been my natural habitat…
But somehow, myself and my friend Lisa have signed up and fully committed to this adventure. Since the start of the year, we’ve battled the deadly hills of Uffculme, been swept along by determined Parkrun runners, and narrowly avoided being taken out by speeding bikes along the Quay in Exeter. Honestly, we deserve danger money at this point.
Despite the aching legs, questionable life choices, and constant wondering whose idea this was, we’re doing it for an amazing cause. Every donation will help support Isla, Emily, and the many families helped by Compass.
So please dig deep, give generously, and help make all the blisters, sweat, and hill-induced trauma worthwhile!
