Stride for Stroke - 1.4 Million Steps to Support Stroke Survivors
I survived a stroke that changed my life in an instant. One moment I was at work carrying out my normal duties and the next, I was in a hospital. Now thanks to God and His will permitting, I will be walking 1.4 million steps, one for each stroke survivor in the UK to raise funds for the Stroke Association. Every step is a step towards rebuilding lives.
When stroke strikes, part of your brain shuts down, and so does a part of you. Life changes instantly, and recovery is long and tough. But the amazing thing is that the brain can adapt and lives can be rebuilt.
That’s why I’m taking part in the fundraising challenge “Stride for Stroke”, walking 1.4 million steps, one step for each of the 1.4 million stroke survivors in the UK. This works out to walking 10,000 steps a day for 140 days. However it can be completed in a shorter or longer time.
The funds raised will:
• Help stroke survivors like me find strength through support
• Help rebuild lives, and give hope to families affected by stroke
• Provide specialist services and rehabilitation
• Fund vital research into prevention and recovery
• Campaign for better stroke care and awareness
You can help this cause by:
• Donating whatever you can - every pound helps
• Share this fundraiser with your friends, family, and social networks
With your generous support, even more lives can be rebuilt.
May God bless you as you give to this worthy cause.
Thank you!
