Dr Jan White, a member of Witney Community Church, has been working tirelessly out in Uganda since 1987. Her work in Mbale really took off in 2001 when an existing house was converted into a health clinic.

Amongst other things, the clinic initially offered help with treating malaria and caring for those with cancer and end-stage AIDS. Then in 2016 immunisations for children began, and a midwife was employed to offer deliveries as well as antenatal and postnatal care.

Of course, offering the best possible care - and just keeping the clinic going - costs money, and there are simply not the resources available locally to meet all the needs.

That's why we're hoping to raise £10,000 towards the running costs and equipment needs of the clinic.
