I’m taking on the ultimate challenge – an Accelerated Freefall (AFF) skydive – to raise funds in support of Tacugama Chimpanzee Sanctuary in Sierra Leone. Tacugama works tirelessly to protect endangered chimpanzees and their habitats, while also supporting local communities through conservation, education, and outreach programs.

Recently Tacugama has come under serious threat. The sanctuary’s 600-acre core and wider 6,000-acre Tourism Development Area are being encroached by illegal settlement, construction, and land grabbing; unauthorized structures border chimp enclosures; traps have been found dangerously close; and deforestation is creeping in.

As a result, Tacugama has even temporarily closed its doors to tourists, to focus on conservation, protection, and pushing for stronger enforcement.
