Charlie, James and William Procter is raising money for Lymphoma Action
In memory of John Procter

Three Peaks Challenge · 7 June 2025

We’ve been providing in-depth, expert information and wide-ranging support for over 35 years, helping thousands of people affected by lymphoma. Our work drives improvements in the diagnosis, treatment, and aftercare of lymphoma.

Story

Our dad, John Procter, died when he was just 59 years old.

John was diagnosed with Non Hodgkin T Cell Lymphoma, Primary in the Bone Marrow. This is an extremely rare and aggressive blood cancer. Many haematologists would never see this type of cancer in their professional career.

John was an extremely active man, who loved sport. He was the last person anyone thought would have cancer, let alone die from it but he did. He was in the right category. Male, in their late 50s to 60s.

Looking back, he had all the symptoms, but Lymphomas/ Leukaemia was the last illness the GP thought of.

We were in and out of GP surgeries and hospitals for about 6 weeks before a diagnosis was made. He died within seven months.

Therefore, more awareness needs to be made to diagnose quickly, and more trials need to be carried out to get the right treatment. . Although John tried everything and anything that was available, it’s still R-CHOP or ICE chemotherapy

I’m so proud of my sons to take up this cause for their Dad and he would be so proud too.

John adored his family, and we loved him beyond measure.

He never lived to see his grandchildren grow or new ones being born – the sad heartbreaking reality we and other families must go through. It’s a monumental loss to carry each day.

So, thank you for reading this and thank you for your support in finding a better treatment for this vile cancer.
