Fan Fundraiser for Joaquin Phoenix’s birthday. This year for Joaquin’s birthday we have set up a fundraising event for The Animal Legal Defence Fund. As Joaquin cares deeply for animals and activism, we feel enlightened to choose ALDF for this year’s fundraiser.

Joaquin Phoenix has worked alongside ALDF for various major projects that lead to the acknowledgment of cruelty within the lives of sentient animals in agricultural industries. Such projects include the whistleblower campaign for slaughterhouse workers Report Animal AG and the aid of providing a voice for the voiceless in petitions and letters to government officials on the suffering and exploitation of horse-drawn carriages in New York City. Joaquin’s recent partnership with ALDF is led by countering industrial animal agriculture’s green-washing of factory farming ‘biogas’

The Animal Legal Defense Fund’s mission is to protect the lives and advance the interests of animals through the legal system. The Animal Legal Defense Fund accomplishes this mission by filing high-impact lawsuits to protect animals from harm, providing free legal assistance and training to prosecutors to assure that animal abusers are held accountable for their crimes, supporting tough animal protection legislation and fighting legislation harmful to animals, and providing resources and opportunities to law students and professionals to advance the emerging field of animal law.
