Story
Hopian is celebrating its 50th anniversary this year and has been supporting survivors of domestic violence and child sexual exploitation since 1976.
Hopian provides a range of trauma-informed support services for adults (of all genders, backgrounds, ages, etc), young people and children. They offer safe temporary accommodation, outreach support, one-to-one support, group work, specialist support for children and young people, and much more besides.
I will attempt to ride from Hopian's HQ in Rotherham to the statue of Millicent Fawcett in Parliament Square, London, in a day on my bicycle.
For me, at a time when it feels like the world is moving backwards with violence against women and girls, there is nothing more important than supporting charities like Hopian, who are on the front line. Supporting those who are most vulnerable, and remembering the work of strong women before us, such as suffragist Millicent Fawcett, who was vital in getting women the right to vote, is so important!
I just hope I am strong enough to complete the 185 miles/298km in a single day (24hrs)... but riding for women and girls will be my inspiration, for all those who have survived violence and those who have lost their voice.
Your support would mean the world to me, and I truly hope to do you proud; I will absolutely give it my best!
I am super grateful to my company, MissyRedBoots.com, and my partner, Steve, for helping to make this possible.
