🌸We walk to keep the memory of our mother, Coby, alive. She passed away five years ago from Alzheimer's.

🌸We walk for everyone who's life is touched by Alzheimer's but isn't able to do this walk.

🌸We walk to feel hope and connect with the other people on the Trek.

🌸We walk to raise money for the Alzheimer's Society to support people living with Alzheimer's and for Alzheimer's research. Because we are coming from afar, we have set an ambitious fundraising target. Your support is what makes our Trek meaningful 🙏❤️

Why Fairy Slippers?

We’ve chosen to walk under the name Fairy Slippers after a rare and delicate orchid. Mom especially loved orchids. Dad would bring beautiful orchids home from his business trips to Singapore and Japan. In the eighties, no one had orchids like those! The naturalist John Muir once described encountering this beautiful flower, the Fairy Slipper, as one of the most memorable moments of his life. It inspired him to start his nature writing!
