Story
Judy and Pat (Team “Two Left Turns” ) are taking part in a race across Lancashire to support Lancashire Women . A 200 mile journey over two days throughout Lancashire with no phones ,limited budget and using only public transport and a paper map 😱😬
This experience will no doubt be one of the biggest challenges that we have faced. Both of us were born without an inbuilt Sat Nav and can get lost just going to the local shop. We are both of pensionable age and totally unfit so the odds are definitely stacked against us. However, we feel that our enthusiasm and sense of adventure will get us through !! Hahah
Unfortunately both of us overestimated each others ability, to read and understand a map and know our left from right and our north from south !! Turns out that neither of us has a clue .WHAT COULD POSSIBLY GO WRONG😱😱
We have both spent our working lives supporting people and trying to “Make a Difference” this seemed like a fitting challenge and at the same time a great adventure for two old friends. However ,we have now found out what is expected of us and realise “ WE SHOULD HAVE READ THE SMALL PRINT”
Lancashire Women support around 5000 individuals each year across Lancashire, by offering a safe space for women to seek support and access a wide range of FREE services, including Mental Health & Wellbeing, Employment Support, Money, Debt & Energy Advice, and Justice & Safety.
The struggles around rising bills and the general increase in cost of living has left us desperately in need of funding to continue to run our vital services.
This is where you wonderful people come in; your support can mean real lives changed for women in Lancashire.
