Story
20 years ago my wonderful sister Suzie lost her sight overnight while her son Danny was just six months old. Since then she's set up the amazing charity Eye Matter which aims to end social isolation for visually impaired people.
I'm so delighted to share this short film showcasing their incredible work and to have been able to create it for them along with my talented team at Jules' Creative Content.
In making this film I volunteered as a sighted guide and spoke to so many members of the charity. It was inspirational to find that they unanimously described it as life changing and something that has created a sense of belonging and connection that was missing for them..
As part of my celebrations this year I really don't want anything at all but would ask that if you were considering a gift, that you instead donate to Eye Matter via this Just Giving page. It would mean a lot to me and to all the Eye Matter members.
Please also view the film here and share it more widely with your network. I would love to spread the word about what Eye Matter do and to encourage more people to donate and volunteer as a sighted guide if you are able to - you might get more out of the experience than you think!
