Story
Hi, I’m Jules, a Trainee Interpreter at Nottinghamshire Deaf Society. I’ve been with the charity for just over a year, and everyone there has been so welcoming and supportive.
This summer, I’m taking on two huge running challenges to raise money for Nottinghamshire Deaf Society:
- Nomad 50 Miler on 20th June
- Race to the Stones 100km on 11th and 12th July
100km is around 62 miles, and this will be the furthest distance I’ve ever attempted! I’m currently training hard and hoping to make it all the way round. I’m excited, nervous, and ready for the challenge.
The two runs are special for different reasons. Nomad takes place in Derbyshire, my hometown, with a route through scenic countryside, canals, trails, fields, and roads. Race to the Stones follows the Ridgeway, Britain’s oldest road in Southern England, passing historic sites dating back over 5,000 years. I’ll definitely be taking in the views along the way too!
Nottinghamshire Deaf Society supports deaf, hard of hearing, and deafblind people with employment, welfare rights, and advocacy. They also teach BSL courses and Deaf Awareness training. Their work helps make Nottinghamshire more inclusive for deaf people.
Please support me and this amazing charity if you can. Every donation will help motivate me through the training and those long miles ahead ❤️
