Story
I'm jogging 29 Miles this February to raise money for Pancreatic Cancer UK.
Sadly, my lovely Dad lost his life to this awful disease just over a year ago. It was just 3 weeks from his diagnosis until he was taken from us. It is an unforgiving and cruel disease.
Pancreatic cancer has the lowest survival rates of all cancers and treatment hasn't improved much over the last 50 years. Sadly, over half of people who are diagnosed with it die within 3 months. This is mostly due to symptoms not presenting until the disease has spread and become incurable.
By donating to my challenge, you're making support available for people now and funding world-leading research to find that breakthrough in new treatments which is so desperately needed. Just £29 could fund further research to improve the speed of diagnosis.
Pancreatic Cancer UK were amazingly supportive in those brief weeks when my Dad's health declined so rapidly and I know he would want us to try and support other families in a similar situation.
My Dad and I had a special bond forged through many years of him supporting my running career when I was younger. I am going to run from my House to his each day which is just over a mile. I know he would have approved and been cheering me on from his garden!
It would be wonderful if you could support me in this cause.Thank you so much!
