Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving Page.

On 14th December 10 of us will be on the bikes for 12 hours straight from 6am - 6pm at London Welsh RFC. The plan is to keep the 2 bikes moving for 12 hours non stop, where we will do it 30 mins at a time. WE HAVE 1 BIKE FOR YOU TO COME SUPPORT! We want people to get involved in this, click the google sheet here - https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1BXDIRZ7L_-ZsS5mUROMQjaA_TfCciz5v1EHJQbswJEM/edit?usp=sharing to book a time slot, anywhere from 10 mins to 1 hour! We want as many people getting involved and learning what cocoon do.

Not only will we be doing this in the freezing cold dark, but as none of us are particularly huge fans of cycling, it will be a particularly mental and physical challenge. It is going to be quite gruelling, and any penny you could give us would help us get through the day.

Why are we doing this? Cocoon After Care are a small grass roots charity who provide support to care experience adults across Hounslow, Richmond and Kingston boroughs. Many care leavers have experienced trauma and instability as children, the effects of which are carried into adulthood with many facing multiple challenges. A high proportion of care leavers often end up homeless and they are forced into independence at a younger age and with less support than their peers. Cocoon, Care After Care is committed to supporting care leavers to live and thrive, not just survive.

Cocoon are an amazing charity who provide critical care to young adults at an incredibly vulnerable time in their lives, and at Christmas time in particular the Charity raise funds to ensure the adults they support can enjoy the festive time of year that so many of us take for granted.

We want to do what we can to support them to continue to offer their vital services to all who need it, any penny you could give would make a huge difference.

Love,

Julia, Matilda, Alex, Serena, Caroline, Scott, Grace, Malcolm, Lucinda and Will x
