As many of you will know, I'm celebrating a half century on Earth this summer and I strongly believe we should try and make a positive impact on the lives of others whilst we are here, so that they too may enjoy this amazing planet and that we all aim to leave it in a better place.

I'm incredibly fortunate to live a safe, healthy and secure life and there really isn't anything else that I need. Not everyone is as fortunate and I am a trustee of Accomplish Children's Trust, supporting disabled children and their families, across Africa. We manage to do a huge amount with the funds we raise, but there is a growing need and so much more we could support.

I am therefore trying to raise £500 for my 50th birthday, to help support projects and children close to my heart in Malawi, Uganda and Kenya. Can you help me make their lives a little brighter?
