Anyone can get Parkinson’s. It gets worse over time and there’s no cure. Yet. Funding research into the most promising treatments, we’re getting closer to a cure. Until then, we're improving life for people with Parkinson’s, and the people in their lives. Together we'll find a cure.

Story

Dear all

I'm raising money in memory of my father Barry Key who died two years ago.

He lived with Parkinson's for many years and it gradually robbed him of all his physical abilities, while largely leaving his mind intact. He was one of the good guys and a pleasure to spend time with.

He was the first of his family to attend university, he read Chemistry at Durham and spent his working life as an inspirational teacher, educating many generations of future teachers, doctors and scientists.

Parkinson's impacts on the whole family and I'm proud to say its one of the reasons my eldest daughter is training to be a nurse, and my youngest daughter is studying Neuroscience.

My brother and I had a fantastic childhood and enjoyed some amazing holidays. In memory I'm cycling from our first French family holiday venue in Royan on the west coast to Sete on the south coast where we spent many happy holidays. The route is about 400miles mostly off road and will take me about a week.

I hope you will be able to support my ride and help Parkinson's UK support the fight against Parkinson's
