Brain tumours kill more children and adults under the age of 40 than any other cancer. Just 1% of the national spend on cancer research has been allocated to this disease. We are a leading voice calling for support and action for research into what is called the last battleground against cancer.

Story

We are raising funds for brain tumour research in memory of loved ones known to many of us who have lost their fight against this devastating disease, particularly in recent years. We have chosen to support Brain Tumour Research (https://braintumourresearch.org) as they are the only national charity in the UK focused on finding a cure for all types of brain tumours and dedicated to funding this area of research.

They are campaigning to increase the national investment in brain tumour research and their ambition is to fund seven dedicated Brain Tumour Research Centres of Excellence in the UK. They currently provide long-term funding to five key academic institutions:

The Scottish Brain Tumour Research Centre of Excellence

Imperial College London

The Institute of Cancer Research, London

Queen Mary University of London

University of Plymouth

Their Patrons include Sarah Beeny, Pete Waterman OBE, Alfie Boe OBE, Caprice Bourret and Theo Burrell.

Brain tumours kill more children and adults under the age of 40 than any other cancer, yet historically just 1% of the national spend on cancer research has been allocated to brain tumour research since records began in 2002. Brain Tumour Research are campaigning to increase the national investment in brain tumour research to £35 million per year.

We would be enormously grateful for any donation you can make, however small.
