Juliane Keane is raising money for Multiple Sclerosis Society

Challenge: A series of 6 races covering a range of distances and terrains beginning with The Warrior's Run in August and finally Valencia Marathon in December. Running with MS to help Stop MS!

Over 150,000 of us in the UK have MS. It’s unpredictable and different for everyone. But it doesn’t have to be this way. We’re the MS Society. We understand what life’s like with MS. We're here for you through the highs, lows and everything in between. Together, we are strong enough to stop MS.

Story

MS Warrior's Road to Valencia

For the past 26 years, I have been living with relapsing multiple sclerosis (MS). MS is an unpredictable, lifelong neurological condition that affects everyone differently. Although I have relapsing MS, many people eventually develop progressive MS, where treatment options are limited and much more research is urgently needed.

Running has become an important part of my journey with MS. It has helped me cope both physically and mentally, kept me positive through the tougher times and given me a focus. I know how fortunate I am to still be able to run, and I never take that ability for granted, knowing that many people living with MS and other conditions no longer have that opportunity.

MS Warrior's – Road to Valencia is a personal fundraising journey that I have created to raise funds for vital MS research at the Northern Ireland MS Research Hub at Queen's University Belfast, while also raising awareness of the realities of living with MS.

My challenge is to complete six races across a variety of distances and terrains, beginning with the iconic Warriors Run in Strandhill, Co. Sligo, in August and finishing with the Valencia Marathon in December. The final race, the Valencia Marathon, covers 26.2 miles, symbolising the 26 years I have lived with MS and making the finish line especially meaningful.

Every donation, no matter how big or small, will help fund vital research and bring us closer to stopping MS. Thank you for supporting my journey.

Every mile, every race and every step is helping to create hope for everyone living with MS!
