Oysho Royal Parks Half Marathon for North London Hospice
On Sunday 11th October, I’ll be taking on the Oysho Royal Parks Half Marathon to raise money for North London Hospice, a charity that’s very close to my heart.
Over the years, I’ve seen firsthand the incredible care, dignity and compassion the hospice provides. Sadly, I’ve known friends whose lives were cut far too short and who spent the final days of their lives at North London Hospice. The care and support given to them and their families during such incredibly difficult times was truly remarkable. The work North London Hospice does makes an enormous difference when people need it most.
My running journey only really began in January 2026. Encouraged by my old school friend Mel, I started the NHS Couch to 5K programme with the local running group Enfield Chasers. I was inspired by my amazing 84-year-old dad, who runs with Parkrun every week and has completed two half marathons in recent years. His determination, resilience and positive outlook inspired me to lace up my trainers and give running a go.
What started as a simple personal challenge has grown into something I never imagined possible. Now, just months later, I’m preparing to take on 13.1 miles in the Royal Parks Half Marathon.
This challenge is about much more than running. It’s an opportunity to raise money for a cause that means so much to me and to give something back to a charity that is there for patients and families through some of life’s most difficult moments.
North London Hospice provides specialist care and support to people living with life-limiting illnesses across Barnet, Enfield and Haringey. Its services are provided free of charge, and the hospice relies heavily on donations to continue its vital work.
Every donation, no matter how small, will make a difference. It will help North London Hospice continue providing care, comfort and support to local people and their families when they need it most.
If you’re able to support my fundraising, I would be incredibly grateful. Every mile I run will be for the patients, families and staff who make North London Hospice such a special and important part of our community.
“The best of life, at the end of life, for everyone”
Thank you so much for your support, encouragement and generosity. ❤️
