Story
This year I am completing a triathlon I started 20 years ago in 2006 with the inaugural Herts 10km raising money for Grove House. It was a few (!) years later, in 2021, that I started my open water swimming journey with an event at Merchant Taylors’ lake for the same charity and now, in 2026, I am embarking on the final discipline with a cycle from Lands End to John O’Groats; 1000 miles in 14 days. It’s a big challenge but I will be riding alongside some fabulous, inspiring, supportive and fun women which will make all the difference. https://www.justgiving.com/team/bbteamlejog26?utm_medium=TE&utm_source=CL
In the time since I did the first event, Grove House has become Rennie Grove Peace Hospice Care and became more relevant to me personally in 2018 supporting our family when my lovely Dad died. We saw at first hand how ‘hospice at home’ care could enable end of life in familiar and comfortable surroundings for patient and loved ones.
So I will pedal in memory of both of my parents and hope that they will have a hand on my back as I tackle some of the hills along the way. They would have pronounced me ‘daft’ and I probably am.
Your support for my adventure would be wonderful and make a big difference to the fantastic work done by Rennie Grove Peace for so many families like ours.
Thank you!
