Story
The lovely couple in the picture is my wonderful Mum and her partner Eric. Eric is an amazing man that has brought joy to my Mum in her later years.
Recently Eric has been diagnosed with a form of Alzheimer's, fortunately Eric is still the same person but just has a little difficulty finding the right words. He's is not as chatty as he was a year ago but he still makes us all smile.
Last year I ran 31 days in October for Alzheimer's research, and I now want to move that up a notch so in 2024 I will be taking on the 13.1 miles of the Cambridge Half Marathon.
Running helps me shed any of the days worries or stress, it gets me out into nature in all weathers - I love the cold mornings the best!! I feel very lucky to have the mind and body to run.
This disease is thoughtless, mean and downright horrible. It takes the people we love away from us even when they are right there. I want to help make a difference to all those people and help find a treatment or cure so that our loved ones stay with us.
