Story
We have set up a fundraising page in memory of our lovely Ann, a much missed wife, mum, nanny, auntie, friend, and neighbour.
Ann died on 10 June aged 82, after a long, hard fought, battle with Alzheimer's disease.
Aside from all the challenges that Ann faced in her battle with dementia, there were still some positives that came to light, one being the amazing charity that is the Homelink Day Respite centre.
Ann used to attend Homelink each week. The care she received was exactly as you would want it to be, she was cherished. Ann also attended music therapy sessions through the centre, it was lovely to see the joy that the singing gave her.
Homelink is an incredibly special place, they create a little bit of magic! Not only do they support and care for clients with empathy, dignity and respect, they also provide an incredible amount of support to the families of the clients. It's wonderful to actually see the impact that they have in person.
Thank you! Graham, Neil, Julie and all the Garretts xx
A message from Homelink:
At Homelink we are all deeply saddened by the loss of Ann, a client of Homelink and a memorable member of our community. Ann's calm and funny nature touched all who knew her.
In her honour, Ann's family are raising funds for Homelink, a local charity dedicated to the wellbeing of older people and their unpaid carers. Homelink believes that everyone deserves to live a meaningful life, feeling engaged, purposeful, and connected within their community. Ann greatly benefited from Homelink's support and services.
Homelink provides essential day respite care for those in need, along with vital social and emotional support for carers.
Your donation will help Homelink to continue this crucial work, ensuring that others can receive the same compassionate care that Ann did.
Thank you for your support during this difficult time. Your contributions are greatly appreciated and will make a significant difference in the lives of many.
