Story

Jules has always been one for a dare or a challenge and in September she has chosen to do this! To ride the world’s highest motorable road - Umling La in the Himalayas!

We will encounter extreme and changeable conditions like high altitude; river crossings; variable road surfaces (gravel and mud;) snow and cold weather. (Oh and some camping!!)

As she has only been riding for 3 years, this is a biggie, and so Bob has to go along too to make sure she doesn’t do anything daft, like falling off the side of a mountain!

We thought that it might also be a good opportunity to raise some money for a good cause.

We believe that mental heath is one of the most misunderstood, underfunded and potentially dangerous problems in our society today.

We wanted to find a way of combining our concern for this, with our love of motorcycling, and have found the perfect charity to support in “Make Your Mark.”

The charity has been shaped around one simple but powerful idea: Motorbiker Acts of Random Kindness – or MARKs. Celebrating the power of bikers to change lives and strengthen communities.

For so many riders across the UK, especially those navigating the struggles of mental health, the open road on two wheels offers something extraordinary: mindfulness, clarity, purpose and peace.

Every pound raised goes back into the places bikers call home — funding projects that make a real difference locally, like local homeless shelters, food banks, children’s homes, care homes, veterans and other local community causes.

One of M.A.R.K’s most exciting initiatives — the Bike and Brew Passport has over 250 biker cafés across the UK, encouraging riders to explore, connect, and support local businesses, all while raising awareness and funds for good causes.

Please help us to help them by supporting our crazy challenge, (from which we hope to emerge unscathed,) with as much as you can afford.

Many thanks.

Jules and Bob xx
