Story
"Two lives in my family saved by kidney transplants – now I’m cycling 382 km to give others the same chance."
Three years ago, I donated a kidney to my eldest son, Wil, and we’ve just celebrated his amazing recovery. My dad also received the gift of a kidney in 2017, and he too is thriving.
Kidneys for Life is a small North West charity dedicated to helping renal patients now and in the future. They fund vital research into kidney disease, transplantation, dialysis, and provide amenities for renal patients at MRI, NCA, Preston Hospital, Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital, and the satellite dialysis units.
The renal unit at Manchester Royal Hospital has been there for us every step of the way, and Kidneys for Life supports families like mine through kidney disease, dialysis, transplants, and aftercare.
In November, I’ll be cycling 382 km from Ho Chi Minh City in Vietnam to the ancient temples of Angkor Wat in Cambodia to raise funds for this incredible charity.
Please donate if you can—together we can give more people the gift of life.
