Story
Many of you may have noticed that I’ve participated in several 10K runs recently, each for different reasons—anniversaries, a bit of fun, and maybe a touch of madness! On June 8th, I’ll be running the Hull 10K for a cause close to my heart: Age UK Hull & East Yorkshire.
As we grow older, it's essential to have the support of family, friends, the NHS, and social care. However, there are times when we need a bit more help, and that’s where Age UK can make a difference.
I would truly appreciate it if you could spare a fiver for this incredible charity. Your support will not only help a great cause but also motivate me to achieve my personal best!
Thank you so much
Who Are Age UK Hull & East Yorkshire (HEY) and What Do They Do?
Age UK Hull & East Yorkshire (HEY) is a local, independent charity dedicated to improving the lives of older people in Hull and the surrounding areas. Their mission is to provide support, advice, and essential services that help older individuals stay independent, active, and connected to their community.
What They Do:
• Advice & Information – Free, confidential guidance on benefits, housing, and care.
• Practical Support – Home support, befriending services, and digital inclusion programs.
• Health & Wellbeing – Social groups and falls prevention services to combat loneliness and promote active lifestyles.
• Advocacy & Campaigning – Raising awareness of issues affecting older people and ensuring their voices are heard.
While some of their services receive funding, much of what they do relies on donations, grants, and fundraising efforts to keep going.
