Story
2026 will be the hardest physical year for me, undertaking 2 massive challenges but raising much needed funds for Havens Hospices.
In memory of our friend’s little boy Ben Blaker. He was diagnosed with retinoblastoma at 10 months old and sadly died aged 2 years and 11 months in 2002. Little Havens provided much needed respite for the family along with activities for Ben’s 2 sisters. They continued to support the whole family so much with activities and counselling after Ben passed.
My friend Yvonne McAvoy was in Havens Hospice 2 years ago for a short time. I visited Yvonne and noticed how kind, caring and calm the staff were towards Yvonne and her visitors. Her room was a lovely , it did not feel clinical at all, a very homely environment for someones last days.
Challenge 1
I am running my first marathon - London Marathon 26th April 2026 (I’ve only done 1/2’s ) so need to train in the extra miles before the big day.
Challenge 2
On May 22nd, myself and committed individuals, will come together as a team to complete a charity trek.
The trek will follow a circular route taking in sections of the classic Welsh 3000s route, Devil's Kitchen, Pen-y-Pass and Snowdonia Slate Trail - covering 27 miles of challenging walking and involving over 10,000ft of ascent (3071m). Over the 3 days, the team will summit 5 peaks above 3000ft finishing with Wales's highest mountain, Snowdon (1085m).
Myself and the team would like to thank you in advance for any donations made no matter how big or small.
