Art Fundraiser - in memory of Andrew Mitchell · 2 July 2023

Founded in 2006, the Nettleham Woodland Trust was formed with the long-term objective of providing the people of Nettleham and the neighbouring villages with a much-needed amenity for recreational purposes, including walking, bird watching, horse riding, cycling and education and at the same time encouraging a greater diversity and richer variety of wildlife in the local environment.

Story

Andy Mitchell or Uncle Andrew as I knew him, was a talented artist and a well known character in Lincoln.

We lost him suddenly on the 1st January 2019, and he leaves a legacy of over 150 original prints and paintings.

Trained as a graphic designer, he studied at Lincoln College of Art. What made his talent even more special was being partially sighted having the lost sight in one eye in his twenties. His specialisms were pen and ink drawings of local Lincoln landmarks, and oil and watercolour paintings. One of his favourite subjects to paint though were trees.

We have decided to hold an art sale with all proceeds to go to the Woodland Trust.

There will be a variety of art from small prints to large framed paintings with suggested donations from £1 to £35 depending on size.

Sunday 2nd July 2023 from 11am to 3pm

At Dunholme Old School, 8 Market Rasen Road, Dunholme, Lincoln, LN2 3QR

Refreshments will be provided.

A Facebook page is available to showcase the art and you will be able to reserve items in advance for collection on the day. If you’d like access please let me know.
