In March, I spent 2 weeks volunteering with the charity Worldwide Radiology at the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital in Kumasi, Ghana. I was part of a small team of healthcare professionals teaching Point of Care Ultrasound (POCUS) to Paediatricians who work in an environment where access to diagnostic tests is limited and parents do not always have the funds to pay for their children to have them.

POCUS allows doctors, who work in a limited resource setting, to use ultrasound to help guide them in making clinical decisions improving patient care.

I have decided to challenge myself and do the Run the Borders 50K, from Melrose to Jedburgh in the Scottish Borders. All the monies I raise will enable Worldwide Radiology to continue their amazing work improving patient care for children in this difficult environment
