Story
I do LOVE a challenge - its great for the body and mind to set a goal. Last year I ran ALOT raising money for a different charity close to my heart - this year I'm climbing...
Now as a family we have scaled Snowdon and Scafell Pike in different years and it took ages and was tough...we never quite got round to do Big Ben that's on the to do list as a family BUT a friend of mine said 'do you fancy doing all 3 in 24hrs?' errrrr...well that's a challenge I thought..so why not!
So if you're not familiar - The National Three Peaks Challenge involves climbing the three highest peaks of Scotland (Ben Nevis), England (Scafell Pike) and Wales (Snowdon).
The total walking distance is 23 miles (37km) and the total ascent is 3064 metres (10,052ft) - twice the ascent of the Yorkshire Three Peaks, over a similar total walking distance. The total driving distance is 462 miles.
I'll be setting off from Norwich 6am on 3rd July up to Scotland and will be starting the challenge early hours 4th July aiming to finish in Wales having completed all 3 in as close to 24hrs as possible .
Its gonna be tough - a challenge of both physical and mental strength and endurance and I'll need every message and penny of support to get me through it please!
I am passionate about the power of sport and physical welbeing and the positive impact it has on people's overall lives and mental health so I'm fundraising for a fantastic charity - The Community Sports Foundation uses the power of sport to support and inspire our community. Their charitable objectives are to:
- drive inclusion for people with disabilities
- boosting mental health and wellbeing and supporting disadvantaged people to raise their aspirations
Your support will impact thousands of children and adults. Help us to change lives.
Thank you so much for your time reading my page, and any donation you feel you are able to make.
Much love,
Julie
