Story
I am completing St Wilfrid’s Moonlight Walk in memory of a much-loved Guiding friend, Mel Ford, and work colleague, Jen Sherlock.
Mel had been battling an extremely aggressive breast cancer which defied all treatment. Throughout her illness she rarely had anything negative to say about anyone or anything. Her determination was beyond inspirational. To the end she was brave and always positive. Mel was extremely active in Girlguiding both locally and internationally at World Association of Girl Guides and Girl Scouts (WAGGGS) and earlier this year received an MBE for her work with young people.
Jen had been bravely battling with illness over the past twelve months and had shown great courage and determination as she continued to teach and engage in the wider school community. Jen was a dedicated teacher and her contributions to the learning of CHS students and school community is immeasurable.
St Wilfrid’s Hospice is an independent local charity and, for over 35 years, has been caring for people in our community who are in the last phase of their lives. Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Donations made here will go directly to St Wilfrid’s Hospice, Chichester.
