Glasgow Kiltwalk 2024 · 28 April 2024 ·

The Brain Tumour Charity is the world’s leading brain tumour charity and the largest dedicated funder of research into brain tumours globally. Committed to saving and improving lives, we’re moving further and faster to help every single person affected by a brain tumour. A cure really can’t wait

Story

I am doing the Kiltwalk in memory of my wonderful Dad. He died in August, a few short months after being diagnosed with a brain tumour.

Progress in research into brain tumours has been slow, and today less than 1% of funding goes towards brain cancers. Only 5% of people will survive their brain tumour for 5 years or more after diagnosis. This highlights why there is a need for more research in this field. We need more funding.

Dad loved wearing his kilt and he loved going for big walks so this feels like the perfect tribute.

Miss you every day Dad xxxxxx
